This is a set of visual resources looking at types of specialist animal and plant cells. It includes a reference booklet, a set of flashcards, a graphic organiser, a cloze activity and four substitution tables.

These resources are suitable for teaching the topic of specialised cells to EAL beginners and intermediate learners aged 12-16. The resources are designed to be used in conjunction with the introductory resource on Cells. They are visual, and include several collaborative activities. The learners can use their first language and prior knowledge of the topic to learn the new vocabulary. The reference book includes the basic topic vocabulary and visuals.
