Most of the activities are suitable for collaborative pair or group work, to generate real opportunities for talk.

The activities in this pack are suitable for a range of levels. There is a sorting exercise, looking at pictures of key moments in the plot and fitting them into a grid according to whether they are at the beginning, middle or end of the play. There are sets of flashcards for matching pictures with sentences, and a set of the the same sentences with the main verbs missing for matching with another set with the missing verbs. Finally there is a sequencing activity which also involves looking at adjectives to describe the actions or feelings of the characters at various moments in the play. The pack can be used in conjunction with other EAL Nexus resources on Hamlet, including those which include scene-by-scene summaries in accessible English, flashcards of key words and DARTs activities (e.g. Hamlet Act 1).
