Hamlet (Acts 1-5)
This work pack is intended to support beginner EAL learners to access the five acts of Shakespeare’s Hamlet when being studied as a class text.
The pack contains easy to follow summaries of the plot of Hamlet’s acts in accessible English, accompanied by flashcards of key words. The summaries are supported by several DARTs activities which learners using EAL can explore collaboratively or independently. The aim of the pack is to enable learners who are new to English to understand the plot of Hamlet and to become familiar with the main characters and their situation. Answers to the DARTs activities are also provided so learners can correct their own work where appropriate. This is a highly visual resource with Manga-style illustrations to appeal to young people.
